Rock Climbing

The Lake District has some of the UK’s finest Rock Climbing and definitely the most scenic. Every year thousands of climbers come to sample all it has to offer.

The Lakes boasts many rock types such as Rhyolite, Granite, Sandstone & Slate right through to Limestone. These rock types offer all climbing genres from traditional single and multi-pitch routes and bouldering right through to sport climbing.

There couldn’t be a better place to learn or further your experience of Rock Climbing. The taster session is aimed at people with little or no climbing experience and the guiding days and instructional courses are aimed at people with previous climbing or scrambling experience.

Come and have a go and see what you are missing out on.

If the weather is unsettled we can go scrambling or climb WATERFALLS.

Whats the options?

There are three options when it comes to climbing sessions and they are explained below:

  1. Taster Sessions
  2. Guided Climbing
  3. Instructional Courses

Option 1

This session is aimed at first timers or people with little experience. The climbs chosen offer a perfect insight into climbing and give a taste of this much loved past time. Suitably aimed at most levels of ability and all ages from 10 years and above.

This activity is easier and more enjoyable in the dry. However, it can be ran in damper conditions. When it is too wet we swap to abseiling/ghyll scrambling if possible.

Option 2

This experience is a more bespoke session aimed towards people that say, already climb and do not have a climbing partner while on holiday or perhaps that climb indoors and they want to get a feel for what outdoor climbing is all about or for people that climb single pitch routes and they lack the confidence to attempt a classic multi-pitch route that they wish to climb. The climbs can be chosen by the customer; however plans could change depending on the ability of the person and the existing skill level.

Option 3

This course is aimed towards people that climb indoors or sport climb and wish to learn how to climb outside safely doing trad climbing. It is also for people that wish to learn about how to look after yourself in a multi-pitch environment and learn about stance management.

The climbs and location will be chosen by the instructor. Please be aware that taking part in a course will not necessarily see you leading a route by the end of the day(s) as this will be down to the instructor based on how you perform during the course.
