Rock Climbing Taster

Time Taken:

2-3 hours

Intermediate (suitable for most fit and able persons)

What’s Involved?

During the session you will get to attempt a number of roped climbs on a crag in Langdale. This valley has some great climbing in a fantastic setting. You will learn how to hold the ropes for your other group members and how to tie into the rope.

These climbs are a perfect way to get a taste for rock climbing. This activity is easier and more enjoyable in the dry. However, it can be ran in damper conditions. When it is too wet we swap to abseiling/ghyll scrambling if possible.

Who does it suit?

Climbing is strenuous by nature and the heavier you are the less suited you will be as you must be able to hold your own body weight on your arms/legs. The max ratio is 1:12, however, due to being roped and climbing in turns it is much more enjoyable with a smaller group.  Suitable for children aged 9 and above. All children under 18 must be accompanied by their OWN parent or LEGAL guardian.

If it is too wet we can usually go and climb waterfalls or do some abseiling instead.
